The Barnum Museum is undergoing a long-term restoration following significant storm damage in 2010, and a temporary visual solution has been implemented to maintain its presence in the community. With the historic building closed to the public and partially hidden behind construction barriers, the primary purpose is to keep the museum visible, relevant, and engaging during this transitional period.
Now that the building has been structurally reinforced with 24 tons of interior steel beams, it’s time to move on to the next phase of restoration. The existing window coverings, which have become outdated and damaged from prolonged exposure to the elements, no longer serve their purpose. With the building stabilized, the focus now shifts to renovating the museum’s interior. Updated window coverings will not only replace some of what was lost, but also usher in a new phase of development for the museum.
